This is for the 22 mile Ruck March, this year we are adding a 22K Ruck March. The 22 Mile Ruck March starts at VFW 8483 and ends at VFW 7591. The 22K Ruck March will start at the Salvation Army of Madison and ends at VFW 7591. The two events will merge at Salvation Army and the two groups will Ruck together to VFW 7591. There will be many stops along the way.
On average 20 veterans and 1 service member commit suicide a day. Raising awareness of this issue by rucking 22 miles with 22 pounds. One Veteran suicide is too many…currently, 22 per day of our nation’s protectors take their own lives!
Our mission is to end this tragedy by creating public and Veteran awareness of the situation and by providing means for those at risk to get the help they may desperately need. Please support our efforts by joining our symbolic 22 mile Ruck March or 22K Ruck March (22 lb. ruck/backpack optional) around Madison, WI or join us at one of the VFW posts along the route to take part in other activities (food/raffles/etc.) and comradery.
On Saturday, September 14, 2019 Veterans and non-Veteran supporters will be rucking the approximately 22 mile route or a 22K route around Madison to remember the fallen and to raise awareness of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and Veteran suicide prevention efforts. Return transport available at the end of each leg of the march. The journey will start at VFW Post 8483 at 7:30 a.m. (6:30 a.m. breakfast available) and will proceed to VFW Post 1318 then will end at VFW Post 7591 (Brats/food/drinks/raffles available).
